**F37 Desktop End User License Agreement**

**PLEASE READ THESE LICENCE TERMS CAREFULLY**

**UPDATED OCTOBER 25, 2019**

This licence agreement (Licence) is a legal agreement between you (Licensee or you) and F37 Foundry Limited (company registration number 10567814) having an address at 3 Hodgkinsons Farm, Boot Lane, Bolton, Greater Manchester, BL1 5ST, United Kingdom (Licensor, us or we) for:
 
•	The font downloaded from the F37 Foundry Limited website or as otherwise provided by us (Font); 

•	the computer software, supplied with the Font (Software) enabling the use of the Font; and

•	online or electronic documentation relating to the Font or Software (Documentation).
We license use of the Font, the Software and the Documentation to you on the basis of this Licence. We do not sell the Font, Software or Documentation to you. We remain the owners of the Font, Software and Documentation at all times

This Licence is for private use only. If you use the Software for any commercial, business or resale purpose we will have no liability to you and it is acknowledge a separate commercial use licence is required to be purchased for any commercial or business use. 

All rights that are not specifically granted under this Licence are reserved by us. The Licence will not be effective until our receipt of the license fee, which fee is a one-time payment and is deemed fully earned upon our receipt.

**AGREED TERMS**

**1. GRANT AND SCOPE OF LICENCE, MINOR CHANGES AND UPDATES**

1.1. In consideration of you agreeing to abide by the terms of this Licence, the Licensor hereby grants to you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Font, Software and the Documentation for use within Europe on the terms of this Licence in perpetuity unless or until terminated in accordance with this Licence.

1.2. You may:
 
1.2.1. install and use the Software for your personal purposes only to enable use of the Font on one central processing unit (CPU) and you acknowledge the Licence is a single-user licence and the Software is for single use only;

1.2.2. provided it is used at any one time on only one computer owned or leased by you, transfer the Software from one computer to another;

1.2.3. provided you comply with the provisions in Paragraph 2, make up to 2 copies of the Software for back-up purposes; 

1.2.4. use any Documentation in support of the use permitted under paragraph 1.2 and make up to 2 copies of the Documentation as are reasonably necessary for its lawful use.
 
1.3. We may update or require you to update the Software, provided that the Software shall always match the description of it that we provided to you before you bought it.

**2. RESTRICTIONS**

2.1. Except as expressly set out in this Licence or as permitted by any local law, you undertake:
 
2.1.1. not to copy the Font, Software or Documentation, except where such copying is incidental to normal use of the Font or Software or where it is necessary for the purpose of back-up or operational security;
 
2.1.2. not to rent, lease, sub-license, loan, translate, merge, adapt, vary, alter or modify, the whole or any part of the Font, Software or Documentation nor permit the Font or Software or any part of it to be combined with, or become incorporated in, any other programs;

2.1.3. not to use the Font, Software or Documentation for any commercial purposes in any form;

2.1.4. not to allow or permit any other persons to use the Font, Software or Documentation;

2.1.5. not to transfer, or permit any transfer of the Font, Software or Documentation to any other person without purchasing a licence from us;

2.1.6.	not to use the Font in any form, application or document or any other media where it will be placed in or used in the public domain;

2.1.7. not to use the Font or Software as part or whole of a corporate identity or branding system unless a separate license is obtained covering the expected usage, including: workstation installations, web fonts, appfonts, etc.; 

2.1.8.	not to use the Font or Software to create or distribute any electronic document in which the Font Software, or any part thereof, is embedded in a format that permits editing, alterations, enhancements, or modifications by the recipient of such document without obtaining a License Extension from us to do so. You may embed the Font in a secure electronic document for previewing and printing use only. 

2.1.9.	not to disassemble, de-compile, reverse engineer or create derivative works based on the whole or any part of the Font or Software nor attempt to do any such things, except to the extent that (by virtue of sections 50B and 296A of the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988) such actions cannot be prohibited because they are necessary to decompile the Font or Software to obtain the information necessary to create an independent program that can be operated with the font or Software or with another program (Permitted Objective), and provided that the information obtained by you during such activities:

2.1.9.1. is used only for the Permitted Objective;

2.1.9.2. is not disclosed or communicated without the Licensor’s prior written consent to any third party to whom it is not necessary to disclose or communicate it in order to achieve the Permitted Objective; and

2.1.9.3. is not used to create any software that is substantially similar in its expression to the Font or Software;
 
2.1.10.	to keep all copies of the Font and Software secure and to maintain accurate and up-to-date records of the number and locations of all copies of the Software;
 
2.1.11.	to include our copyright notice on all entire and partial copies of the Software in any form;
 
2.1.12.	not to provide, or otherwise make available, the Font, Software or Documentation in any form, in whole or in part (including, but not limited to, program listings, object and source program listings, object code and source code) to any person without prior written consent from us;
 
2.1.13.	to comply with all applicable technology control or export laws and regulations.

**3. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS**

3.1.	You acknowledge that all intellectual property rights in the Font, Software and the Documentation throughout the world belong to us, that rights in the Font, Software and Documentation are licensed (not sold) to you, and that you have no intellectual property rights in, or to, the Font, Software or the Documentation other than the right to use the Font, Software and the Documentation in accordance with the terms of this Licence.

3.2.	You acknowledge that you have no right to have access to the Font and Software in source code form other than as expressly provided in this Licence.

**4. WARRANTY**

4.1.1. the Font and Software will, when properly used on an operating system for which it was designed, perform substantially in accordance with the functions described in the Documentation;

4.1.2. the Documentation correctly describes the operation of the Software in all material respects for a period of 14 days from the date of installation of the Software (Warranty Period).
 
4.2. If, within the Warranty Period, you notify us in writing of any defect or fault in the Font or Software as a result of which it fails to perform substantially in accordance with the Documentation, we will, at our sole option, either repair or replace the Font or Software, provided that you give us proof of purchase and make available all the information that may be necessary to help us to remedy the defect or fault, including sufficient information to enable us to recreate the defect or fault.
 
4.3. The warranty does not apply:
 
4.3.1. if the defect or fault in the Software results from you having altered or modified the Software;

4.3.2. if the defect or fault in the Software results from you having used the Software in breach of the terms of this Licence;
 
4.4. This warranty is in addition to your legal rights in relation to Software that is faulty or not as described. Advice about your legal rights is available from your local Citizens’ Advice Bureau or Trading Standards office.

**5. OUR RESPONSIBILITY FOR LOSS OR DAMAGE SUFFERED BY YOU**

5.1. We are responsible to you for foreseeable loss and damage caused by us. If we fail to comply with these terms, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking this Licence or our failing to use reasonable care and skill, but we are not responsible for any loss or damage that is not foreseeable. Loss or damage is foreseeable if either it is obvious that it will happen or if, at the time this Licence was made, both we and you knew it might happen. Our entire liability to you will not extend beyond or exceed a replacement of any defective font or software or a refund of the licence price.

5.2. We do not exclude or limit in any way our liability to you where it would be unlawful to do so. This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence or the negligence of our employees, agents or subcontractors or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

5.3. When we are liable for damage to your property. If defective digital content that we have supplied damages a device or digital content belonging to you, we will either repair the damage or pay you compensation. However, we will not be liable for damage that you could have avoided by following our advice to apply an update offered to you free of charge or for damage that was caused by you failing to correctly follow installation instructions or to have in place the minimum system requirements advised by us.
 
5.4. We are not liable for business losses. The Font, Software and Documentation are for private use only. If you use the Software for any commercial, business or resale purpose we will have no liability to you for any loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption, or loss of business opportunity.
 
5.5. We do not warrant that the Font and Software will operate with all other software products, or that it will satisfy your requirements. You acknowledge that the Software has not been developed to meet your individual requirements, and that it is therefore your responsibility to ensure that the facilities and functions of the Font and Software as described in the Documentation meet your requirements.

**6. TERMINATION**

6.1. This License may be terminated by you at any time by destroying all copies of the Font, the Software together with the Documentation.

6.2. This Licence will terminate automatically and without notice if you commit a material or persistent breach of this Licence.

6.3. For the purposes of paragraph 6.2 ‘material breach’ includes, but is not limited to:

6.3.1. Any use of the Font, Software or Documentation for any commercial, business or resale purpose;
6.3.2. Any transfer to the Font, Software or Documentation to any third party, unless otherwise authorised under this Licence;

**6.5. COMMUNICATIONS BETWEEN US**

6.6. If you are a consumer, if you wish to contact us in writing, or if any condition in this Licence requires you to give us notice in writing, you can send this to us by email at: licensing@f37foundry.com or by post to F37 Foundry Limited 3 Hodgkinsons Farm Boot Lane, Bolton, Greater Manchester, BL1 5ST. We will confirm receipt of this by contacting you in writing, normally by email.

6.7. If we have to contact you or give you notice in writing, we will do so by email or by pre-paid post to the address you provide or confirm to us.

**7. HOW WE MAY USE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION**

7.1. Under data protection legislation, we are required to provide you with certain information about who we are, how we process your personal data and for what purposes and your rights in relation to your personal data and how to exercise them. This information is provided in our [Privacy Notice](http://f37foundry.com/privacy-policy) and it is important that you read that information.

**8. OTHER IMPORTANT TERMS**

8.1. We may transfer our rights and obligations under these terms to another organisation. We will always tell you in writing if this happens and we will ensure that the transfer will not affect your rights under the contract.

8.2. You may only transfer your rights or your obligations under this Licence to another person if we agree in writing.
 
8.3. This agreement does not give rise to any rights under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999 to enforce any term of this agreement.
 
8.4. Each of the paragraphs of these terms operates separately. If any court or relevant authority decides that any of them are unlawful, the remaining paragraphs will remain in full force and effect.

8.5. The sections titles of this Licence are for convenience only and shall not control or affect the meaning or construction of any of the terms or provisions of this Licence.
 
8.6. If we do not insist immediately that you do anything you are required to do under these terms, or if we delay in taking steps against you in respect of your breaking this contract, that will not mean that you do not have to do those things and it will not prevent us taking steps against you at a later date.
 
8.7. These terms are governed by English law and legal proceedings in respect of the Licence can only be commenced in the English courts.

We license use of the Trial Font, the Software and the Documentation to you on the basis of this Licence. We do not sell the Trail Font, Software or Documentation to you. We remain the owners of the Trail Font, Software and Documentation at all times.

This Licence is for a private trial use only. If you use the Trial Font or Software for any commercial, business or resale purpose we will have no liability to you and it is acknowledged that a separate commercial use licence is required to be purchased for any commercial or business use. 

All rights that are not specifically granted under this Licence are reserved by us. The Licence is being provided to permit a limited use of the Trial Font only.

### YOUR PRIVACY
Under data protection legislation, we are required to provide you with certain information about who we are, how we process your personal data and for what purposes and your rights in relation to your personal data and how to exercise them. The sale, duplication, publication, distribution, broadcast, performance, or non-academic exhibition of any work created using the Trial Font or Software shall be a material breach of this Licence Agreement.
 
1.3. We may update or require you to update the Software, provided that the Software shall always match the description of it that we provided to you before you bought it.

### 2.	RESTRICTIONS
2.1.	    Except as expressly set out in this Licence or as permitted by any local law, you undertake:
 
2.1.1.	not to copy the Trial Font, Software or Documentation, except where such copying is incidental to normal use of the Trial Font or Software or where it is necessary for the purpose of back-up or operational security;

This included but is not limited to, electronic books, electronic magazines, branding, stationary, computer games or any commercial products which all shall be considered Digital Products. A separate licence is required to use the Trial Font or Software in Digital Products. A document distributed in connection with a transaction in which the consideration is unrelated to such document, for example, a letter shall not be considered a Digital Product;

2.1.4.	not to allow or permit any other persons to use the Trial Font, Software or Documentation;

2.1.5.	not to transfer, or permit any transfer of the Trial Font, Software or Documentation to any other person without purchasing a licence from us;

2.1.6.	not to use the Trial Font in any form, application or document or any other media where it will be placed in or used in the public domain;

6.5.1. all rights granted to you under this Licence shall cease;
 
6.5.2. you must cease all activities authorised by this Licence; and
 
6.5.3. you must immediately delete or remove the Trial Font and Software from all computer equipment in your possession and immediately destroy or return to us (at our option) all copies of the Trial Font and Software then in your possession, custody or control and, in the case of destruction, certify to us that you have done so

### 6.6. COMMUNICATIONS BETWEEN US
6.7. We license use of the Font, the Software and the Documentation to you on the basis of this Licence. We do not sell the Font, Software or Documentation to you. We remain the owners of the Font, Software and Documentation at all times. You are licensing the Font, Software and Documentation from us. 3.2. You acknowledge that you have no right to have access to the Font and Software in source code form other than as expressly provided in this Licence.

**4. WARRANTY**

4.1. We warrant that:

4.1.1. the Font and Software will, when properly used on an operating system for which it was designed, perform substantially in accordance with the functions described in the Documentation;

4.1.2.	the Documentation correctly describes the operation of the Software in all material respects

for a period of 14 days from the date of installation of the Software (Warranty Period).
 
4.2. If, within the Warranty Period, you notify us in writing of any defect or fault in the Font or Software as a result of which it fails to perform substantially in accordance with the Documentation, we will, at our sole option, either repair or replace the Font or Software, provided that you give us proof of purchase and make available all the information that may be necessary to help us to remedy the defect or fault, including sufficient information to enable us to recreate the defect or fault.
 
4.3. The warranty does not apply:
 
4.3.1. if the defect or fault in the Software results from you having altered or modified the Software;

4.3.2.	if the defect or fault in the Software results from you having used the Software in breach of the terms of this Licence;
 
4.4. This warranty is in addition to your legal rights in relation to Software that is faulty or not as described. Advice about your legal rights is available from your local Citizens’ Advice Bureau or Trading Standards office.

**5. OUR RESPONSIBILITY FOR LOSS OR DAMAGE SUFFERED BY YOU** 

5.1. We are responsible to you for foreseeable loss and damage caused by us. If we fail to comply with these terms, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking this Licence or our failing to use reasonable care and skill, but we are not responsible for any loss or damage that is not foreseeable. Loss or damage is foreseeable if either it is obvious that it will happen or if, at the time this Licence was made, both we and you knew it might happen. Our entire liability to you will not extend beyond or exceed a replacement of any defective font or software or a refund of the licence price.

5.2. We do not exclude or limit in any way our liability to you where it would be unlawful to do so. This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence or the negligence of our employees, agents or subcontractors or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

5.3. When we are liable for damage to your property. If defective digital content that we have supplied damages a device or digital content belonging to you, we will either repair the damage or pay you compensation. However, we will not be liable for damage that you could have avoided by following our advice to apply an update offered to you free of charge or for damage that was caused by you failing to correctly follow installation instructions or to have in place the minimum system requirements advised by us.
 
5.4. We are not liable for business losses. The Font, Software and Documentation are for private use only. If you use the Software for any commercial, business or resale purpose we will have no liability to you for any loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption, or loss of business opportunity.
 
5.5. We do not warrant that the Font and Software will operate with all other software products, or that it will satisfy your requirements. You acknowledge that the Software has not been developed to meet your individual requirements, and that it is therefore your responsibility to ensure that the facilities and functions of the Font and Software as described in the Documentation meet your requirements.

**6. TERMINATION**

6.1. This License may be terminated by you at any time by destroying all copies of the Font, the Software together with the Documentation.

6.2. This Licence will terminate automatically and without notice if you commit a material or persistent breach of this Licence.

8.3. This agreement does not give rise to any rights under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999 to enforce any term of this agreement.

F37 Gruffy takes inspiration from very early grotesque fonts. It’s a friendly, curvy sans-serif that comes with bags of character. Sloths of the present day are arboreal mammals noted for slowness of movement and for spending most of their lives hanging upside down in the trees of the tropical rain forests of South America and Central America. The sloth is so named because of its very low metabolism and deliberate movements, sloth being related to the word slow. This supports their low-energy diet of leaves and avoids detection by predatory hawks and cats that hunt by sight. Sloths are almost helpless on the ground but are able to swim. The shaggy coat has grooved hair that is host to symbiotic green algae which camouflages the animal in the trees and provides it nutrients. The algae also nourishes sloth moths, some species of which exist solely on sloths.

F37 Beckett pays homage to the British Ministry of Transport’s 1933 alphabet. This somewhat idiosyncratic font was used on what are now called ‘pre-Worboys’ road signs. The caps-only font showed the way from 1933 to 1958, when Jock Kinnear and Margaret Calvert’s Transport font was introduced for Britain's first motorway (the Preston bypass).

With F37 Beckett, we’ve tweaked the MOT font’s original proportions and done away with the sharp terminals. However, we’ve made a point of keeping peculiar features like the short crossbar on the G and the odd shape of the S. We’ve also created a completely new lowercase alphabet, along with a truckload of new weights, including Dingbats of the original signage.

F37 Beckett is a quirky British classic, lovingly transported to modern times.

The Worboys Committee was formed by the British government in July 1963 to review signage on all British roads. This was in response to two articles published in 1961 by graphic designer Herbert Spencer, illustrating the shortcomings of non-motorway British road signs. The committee was chaired by Sir Walter Worboys of ICI. T. G. Usborne of the Ministry of Transport had charge of proceedings, and Jock Kinneir and his assistant (and later business partner) Margaret Calvert were commissioned as designers.

In 1963, the committee released Traffic signs: report of the committee on traffic signs for all-purpose roads, which completely revised road signs in Britain, with an emphases on symbols alone and adopting standard colour and shape practices used in mainland Europe, adoption of a new typeface, called Transport. On 1 January 1965, the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions (TSRGD), the legal framework for road signs in Britain, was revised to adopt the proposed changes in the report.

F37 Stout is a digitisation of a wonderful old American letterpress font we came across called Stoutheart. We loved the really unusual way the angular letterform shapes juxtapose with the circular counters. There’s something really compelling and evocative about the way it looks.

Originally a caps-only font, we’ve designed and crafted a matching lowercase, as well as expanding the font into a range of over 20 different weights. 

Distinctive, bold and memorable, F37 Stout is just the job for headlines that need to pack a punch. F37 Stout is also a variable font — that is, a single font file with weight variations for multiple outputs.

The Beamish and Crawford brewery was founded in 1792, when two merchants, William Beamish and William Crawford, went into partnership with two brewers, Richard Barrett and Digby O’Brien. They purchased an existing brewery (from Edward Allen) on a site in Cramer's lane that had been used for brewing since at least 1650 (and possibly as early as 1500). Beamish and Crawford's Cork Porter Brewery prospered, and by 1805 it had become the largest brewery in Ireland and the third largest in the then United Kingdom as a whole. In 1805, its output was 100,000 barrels per annum – up from 12,000 barrels in 1792. It remained the largest brewery in Ireland until overtaken by Guinness in 1833.

F37 Neuro is inspired by neutral Swiss sans-serif fonts such as Akzidenz and Helvetica. But there’s a British influence too, namely Edward Johnston’s classic London Underground font. In fact, F37 Neuro’s shape and structure is based around the contrasting, expressive curves and distinct straight edges of Johnson’s masterpiece. 

Other subtle, quirky features have been sampled from IBM’s range of Selectric typewriter fonts from the 1960s. For example, the straight crossbar of the a and the downward tail on the top of the 7 take their inspiration from IBM Advocate.

F37 Neuro comes in 12 weights. Its aesthetic is accessible, characterful and contemporary — reassuringly Swiss, but with a hint of British eccentricity that sets it apart.

The grid system is an aid, not a guarantee. It permits a number of possible uses and each designer can look for a solution appropriate to his personal style. But one must learn how to use the grid; it is an art that requires practice.

Our best just got better. F37 Bella was our very first font and is still one of our best sellers. Now, for 2020, we’ve given her a facelift, with refined, optimised proportions and plenty more weights to choose from. One of our best-selling fonts, F37 Bella is influenced by Swiss typographer Jan Tschichold’s early explorations of geometry and shape in letterforms. In particular, the perfect ball terminals of Tschichold’s Saskia font inspired us while drawing F37 Bella.

However, it was John Pistilli’s Pistilli Roman and the thin hairlines in Louis Dorfman’s work that finally inspired F37 Bella’s overall aesthetic shape and form. This interplay between fracture-thin hairlines and pronounced curves is key to F37 Bella’s charm and appeal.

While we were drawing F37 Ginger, we repeatedly returned to the work of two legendary typographers — Paul Renner and Herb Lubalin. In particular, it was the alternatives in Renner’s Futura and Lubalin’s Avant Garde Gothic, that paved the way for F37 Ginger’s geometric slant.

F37 Moon is a geometric sans serif font family featuring seven weights with italics. Inspired by classic sans-serifs such as Avant Garde and Futura, it has a big x-height for an ultra-clean, ultra-minimalist look. Really versatile and contemporary, the short ascenders and descenders create a compact and bold look.

Great in almost any context, F37 Moon is highly legible as body copy, but looks best as a display font in larger sizes. Rounded punctuation alternates are found within the OpenType features.

Judge Roy Snyder is one of the main judges in Springfield, or perhaps more specifically, Springfield County. He was once known as a no-nonsense judge but over the years he has loosened up and become more lenient. His temperament seems to be milder than that of the Judge Constance Harm, who is more strict. Snyder has somewhat of a grudge against Lionel Hutz for repeatedly running over his son with his car. It is unknown how old Snyder's son is or if he survived. Judge Snyder also admitted in court that his wife had left him, since then he has been seen with Lindsey Naegle. When it comes to Bart, he normally lets him off the hook using the reasoning: "Boys will be boys". He was the judge who banned sugar in Springfield, though later cancelled the law, and also ordered the ruling of never mentioning anything about the "real Seymour Skinner" under penalty of torture. At one point, when decreeing that Mr. Burns has to pay a fine of three million dollars after being caught by the EPA for illegally dumping nuclear waste in a park, he allowed for Mr. Burns to, in exchange, have the Justice statue.

F37 Bobby is a contemporary geometric serif. Its design was influenced by the warm serifs that were popular back in the 1970s. We took inspiration from the rounded, friendly feel of fonts like Souvenir, Windsor and Cooper Black.

This is a font with brands in mind: if you’re looking for a cool font that’ll work well for identity work, with a bit of standout, Bobby might be your boy. It’ll also work well for the luxury and fashion worlds. The F37 Bobby family comes in six weights with matching true italics.

Bobby Anthony Banks was born in Bolton on 21 April 2017, weighing 6 pounds and 12 ounces. He currently likes cows, Baby Bum and chocolate digestives. Famous Bobbys include the chess grandmaster and the eleventh World Chess Champion Bobby Fischer, as well as Geordie footballers like Bobby Robson and Bobby Charlton, who played for Newcastle United and Manchester United respectively.

We took inspiration for F37 Jagger from Edward Johnston’s London Underground sans serif font. Its clean, curved lines and simple form are entirely accessible and unassuming. This was also what we wanted to achieve with F37 Jagger.

The contrast between bulbous circular arcs and distinct straight edges in Johnson’s letterforms inspired F37 Jagger’s shape and structure.

Jagger's career has spanned over five decades, and he has been described as "one of the most popular and influential frontmen in the history of rock & roll". His distinctive voice and performances, along with Keith Richards' guitar style have been the trademark of the Rolling Stones throughout the band's career. Jagger gained press notoriety for his admitted drug use and romantic involvements, and was often portrayed as a countercultural figure.

F37 Bergman is a revival of Hans Möhring’s Florida typeface. Swedish film director Ingmar Bergman often used Florida in his films — always in stark black and white. This inspired us to digitalise the font and create a matching lowercase version in four new weights.

We love Möhring’s juxtaposition of tapered stems and geometric thick/thin lines. This makes it perfect for luxury branding and editorial work. We’ve also injected some modernity into the design by creating numerous Herb Lubalin-style ligatures, as well as stylistic headline diacritics.

Ernst Ingmar Bergman was a Swedish director, writer, and producer who worked in film, television, theatre and radio. Considered to be among the most accomplished and influential filmmakers of all time, Bergman's renowned works include Smiles of a Summer Night (1955), The Seventh Seal (1957), Wild Strawberries (1957), The Silence (1963), Persona (1966), Cries and Whispers (1972), Scenes from a Marriage (1973), and Fanny and Alexander (1982). Bergman directed over sixty films and documentaries for cinematic release and for television, most of which he also wrote. Among his company of actors were Harriet and Bibi Andersson, Liv Ullmann, Gunnar Björnstrand, Erland Josephson, Ingrid Thulin and Max von Sydow. Most of his films were set in Sweden, and numerous films from Through a Glass Darkly (1961) onward were filmed on the island of Fårö. 

Inspired by Günter Gerhard Lange’s stripped-back Schoolbook typeface, F37 Bolton is an ideal choice for body copy and smaller print sizes thanks to its simple aesthetic. 

F37 Bolton’s distinctive characters are flat, perfectly horizontal ascenders and descenders. This is an unusual approach, but it underpins F37 Bolton’s uncompromising simplicity.

Bolton Wanderers Football Club is a professional association football club based in Bolton, Greater Manchester, England. The club competes in the EFL Championship, the second tier of the English football league system. The club was formed as Christ Church Football Club in 1874, and adopted its current name in 1877. Founder members of the Football League in 1888, Bolton have spent the highest number of seasons of any club in the top flight without winning the title (the 2011–12 season was their 73rd, non-consecutive, year in the top flight). The closest they have come to the title is third in the First Division on three occasions (1891–92, 1920–21 and 1924–25). As of 2015, the club has spent more seasons in the top division than any other club outside the current Premier League.

The initial inspiration for our F37 Jan font family was Matthew Carter’s Bell Centennial, which was used in the AT&T telephone directory. We loved the way the ink traps and large contours made the text easier to read in small sizes. 

But we were also taken by the geometry and modernism that inspired Jan Tschichold’s Untitled sans serif (found in stylistic set 2). So we decided to create a hybrid design, and to give it Tschichold’s first name.

Jan Tschichold was born 2 April 1902 Leipzig, Germany. He was a calligrapher, typographer and book designer. He played a significant role in the development of graphic design in the 20th century – first, by developing and promoting principles of typographic modernism, and subsequently (and ironically) idealizing conservative typographic structures. His direction of the visual identity of Penguin Books in the decade following World War II served as a model for the burgeoning design practice of planning corporate identity programs. He also designed the much-admired typeface Sabon. 

F37 Ping Pong is a dot-matrix typeface, inspired by the 1970s Letraset font Pinball created by Alan Dempsey. 

This geometric, layered font comes in ten weights, so you can create combinations of shadows, weights and fills to set your designs completely apart.

For some reason, ping-pong came very natural to me, so I started playing it all the time. I played ping-pong even when I didn't have anyone to play ping-pong with. The hospital's people said it made me look like a duck in water, whatever that means. Even Lieutenant Dan would come and watch me play. I played ping-pong so much, I even played it in my sleep.

Glaser Stencil was created in 1967 by US illustrator and graphic designer Milton Glaser. He first used the font for a Carnegie Hall bill poster. The letterforms referenced traditional stencilling techniques of the 1940s and 1950s and became synonymous with American graphic design of that period. Glaser later went on to develop the famous ‘I Heart New York’ logo that’s still widely used today. 

As graphic design went digital, Glaser Stencil’s bold weight was adapted for the computer age. However, its lighter weights weren’t modified for digital use and more or less disappeared. 

Working with Milton Glaser directly, we’ve restored all of Glaser Stencil’s forgotten weights and made them accessible to the digital generation for the first time. An all-caps font, F37 Glaser Stencil comes in four weights — Extra Light, Light, Medium, and Demi (although we’d recommend that Extra Light is only used for large display purposes). F37 Glaser Stencil also supports various languages, including Cyrillic.

Milton Glaser, born June 26 1929, is an American graphic designer. His designs include the I heart NY logo, the psychedelic Bob Dylan poster, and the Brooklyn Brewery logo. In 1954, he also co-founded Push Pin Studios, co-founded New York Magazine with Clay Felker, and established Milton Glaser, Inc. in 1974. His artwork has been featured in exhibits, and placed in permanent collections in many museums worldwide. Throughout his long career, he has designed many posters, publications and architectural designs. He has received many awards for his work, including the National Medal of the Arts award from President Barack Obama in 2009, and was the first graphic designer to receive this award.
