Built from a medley of acute and obtuse angles, F37 Angulat is the expressive and playful typeface from Maltese design studio 2point3.
Reflective of its namesake, F37 Angulat bends and twists our alphabet into unusually striking angles. The typeface comes in two styles that accurately describe their appearance: Angular and Circular. Angular is the rigid style that champions the underlying angularity, while Circular softens up some of the more aggressive features. Built for large sizes and display settings, the typeface also comes with multiple alternates to add variety to each glyph.

Inspiration
Interview
Tell us about the inspiration behind your collaboration with F37®×. If it was an unused concept, what was the potential use case for it.
It started off with a typographical Maltese greeting card titled 'Awguri'. 'Awguri' is a versatile Maltese celebratory term which can be used on different occasions such as general festivities, personal greetings & achievements. The letter forms merge different angles and curves to create a dynamic typeface to reflect this all-encompassing word.
When starting the process of creating your font, what typographic conventions did you look to break or experiment with? Or were there conventions of functionality you championed?
Our aim was to experiment and combine geometric forms with letters in a playful manner. Since we only had in mind to apply the letters as a title font we kept legibility to the bare minimum
Now that your typeface has launched, what would be your dream project to use your F37® typeface on?
I think the possibilities are endless but if we were to choose one project it would definitely be to combine it with an exhibition identity.
